Vision Statement

Core Concept

One Pilgrim, One AI Agent

KumbhDoot is a proposed personal, voice-first AI agent designed to help pilgrims navigate the Kumbh across smartphones, feature phones and voice interfaces.

It is designed for 20+ Indian languages and can coordinate with civic and business agents to help with travel, accommodation, payments, navigation and emergency assistance.

Why India Leads First

Digital Public Infrastructure

The proposal explores extending India's existing digital infrastructure into an agentic layer connecting people, services and institutions.

Population-Scale Coordination

Nashik Kumbh 2027 presents a unique environment for testing agentic coordination across tens of millions of pilgrims over 45 days.

Voice & Language

KumbhDoot is designed for multilingual, voice-first interaction, including access through feature phones and voice-only interfaces.

In Practice

Agentic Architecture in Practice

The proposed system connects pilgrims, civic services and businesses through three primary layers.

Layer 01

Edge Agent Layer

The KumbhDoot personal agent operates across smartphones, feature phones and voice interfaces, providing personalized assistance while protecting sensitive information locally.

Layer 02

Ecosystem Integration Layer

Civic, transport, health, camp and commercial agents expose services that can be discovered and coordinated by pilgrim agents. The layer connects with infrastructure such as UPI, DigiLocker, ABDM and travel systems.

Layer 03

Sovereign Agent Platform

An agent platform provides identity and consent management, agent discovery, policy enforcement, auditing and governance across the ecosystem.

Pilgrim & Vendor Journey

Pre-Arrival

Before the Kumbh

KumbhDoot can help pilgrims prepare for travel, accommodation and services before arrival.

On-Ground

During the Kumbh

Pilgrims can interact through voice to navigate, discover services, coordinate transport and receive assistance.

Ecosystem

For Local Services

Business and civic agents can expose capabilities such as accommodation, transport and other services for discovery and coordination.

Foundations

Project NANDA + India DPI

An open agentic layer connecting personal, civic and business agents.

Consent & Privacy

The architecture emphasizes defined permissions, consent-driven data flows and local protection of sensitive information.

Pilot

A proposed 10,000-participant Nashik college pilot will test core workflows before Kumbh 2027.
